Words: GlobalSound
A sonic tsunami is getting ready to break on the shores of Beach Club de Pointe-Calumet when none other than Armin Van Buuren arrives to serve up an open-air DJ set on Sunday, May 22. The day promises to be sweltering for the roughly 6,000 people expected at the event. Starting at 11 a.m., a torrid breeze will blow over the dancefloor, with rhythms heated to boiling point by Malek (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.) Mike McCarthy (1 to 2:30 p.m.), Insomnia (2:30 to 4 p.m.) and Omar El Gamal (8 to 9 p.m.), who'll be paving the way for the headliner. A number of other DJs (names to come) will also be spelling one another on the terrace throughout the day. The table will be set to perfection for king Armin (4 to 8 p.m.), who'll be on hand to honor his title of favorite DJ on the planet. Elected four times in a row to the number-one spot on DJ Mag's Top 100, the Dutch DJ is also a top choice of Montreal crowds, who'll get to feast on his very latest productions as well as the countless hits that made his reputation.
Practical information
Note that the event will take place come rain or come shine, tents being provided for the occasion. Ticket holders are invited to arrive early to avoid the highway congestion likely to take place at rush hour (Armin's set!). Further to an agreement signed with the Super Aquaclub located close by, participants will have access to the parking lot of that establishment in addition to that of the Beach Club, allowing everyone to park their vehicles quickly and within a reasonable distance.
The organizers have also paid careful attention to comments received at events staged previously in this space, and the necessary measures will be taken to ensure optimal sound quality and visibility in the context of this open-air event.
Reduced-price tickets having all found takers at this point, regular tickets are now available at a cost of $55 (taxes included + service charge) on arminvanbuurenmontreal.com and clubzone.com, as well as in specialty boutiques and from associated promoters (for the complete list see the event's Facebook page). Latecomers take note, the price of tickets will be higher if any are left at the door.
The Armin Van Buuren at the Beach Club de Pointe-Calumet event is a co-production of Beachclub, Produkt and Playground Productions (Montreal's White Party Week).
