Tiesto - Club Life Tour Quebec 2011: Countdown

Words: Mixcom
The clock is winding down quickly on what promises to be the Quebec City party of the summer. In fact, less than ten days remain before the arrival of the legendary Tiësto, who will be transforming the Centre de foires ExpoCité into an immense mega-club on Thursday, June 30. The most popular DJ and producer on the planet is about to get the roughly 7,000 expected people dancing at a show presented as part of the North American wing of his world Clublife tour. Fans of powerful sensations take note: Tiësto goes well beyond the traditional DJ set to offer a total experience in which rhythms, sounds, lights and special effects combine to create a powerful impact.
A party on a rare scale
The event will kick off at 6 p.m. with Tiësto himself performing from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m., preceded by Feed Me, the new electro-house sensation and Deadmau5 protégé, and by well-known Quebec City DJ Marco G. Heightened by the use of such cutting-edge equipment as multiple LED screens, state-of-the-art lighting and several thousands of watts of sound power, the evening is guaranteed to reach peaks of intensity, all the more so in that Thursday the 30th is the night before the legal holiday of Canada Day. The event is open to those 16 and up, and alcohol will be served to those 18 and older on presentation of identity cards, with everything ending at 3 in the morning.
To eliminate certain annoyances observed during previous events staged at the Centre de foires, new procedures have been introduced to provide for speedy admission for all participants and prevent excessive waiting in line.
The irresistible Tiësto
Since his last sold-out show at Centre de foires in 2008, Tiësto has carried on with his spectacular evolution. The Dutch producer is acclaimed in every corner of the globe, his reputation having long ago crossed the boundaries of the electronic scene to take him to the highest ranks on the dance and pop charts. Impossible to pigeonhole the eclectic approach of the man for whom music is never to be confined to a single stylistic niche: the Tiësto sound is unique. And the approach serves him well, as witness the more than 7 million fans on Facebook and 130 million views of his productions on YouTube, not to mention his participation in prestige events like a concert before 250,000 people on the beach at Ipanema and the opening ceremonies of the Athens Olympic Games. On the heels of his 2009 studio album Kaleidoscope, Tiësto recently released the first volume in his Clublife compilation series, entitled Las Vegas.
