The atmosphere was electric on Saturday, August 30, when over 7,000 people danced the night away as part of the Sensation Québec 08 event. Visibly delighted by headliner Tiësto’s set, who mixed for four hours straight (instead of the three hours scheduled), a crowd as energetic as it was varied transformed the Centre des Foires de Québec into a gigantic underground club. Toronto’s Craig Pettigrew, local DJs Marco G., Seven Ways, DJ Kid and Gervais Sphinx along with their Montreal counterparts Wizz, Insomnia and Uppercut went at it full throttle in support of the Dutch master. The biggest event in electronic dance music ever presented in Quebec City was a big hit at every level, taking place without incident in an especially festive ambience.

DJs at the peak of their form
The intensity never slackened throughout the 15 hours of Trance, House and techno music impeccably mixed by the nine DJs in attendance. At the controls from 1:30 to 5:30 in the morning, the legendary Tiësto thrilled the many fans who had come in the thousands to hear him. Perceptibly in top shape, the planet’s best known DJ served up a superbly balanced mix of his own hits and tastefully selected rhythms in transporting Quebec City all the way to Ibiza. The atmosphere was hot in every sense of the word when Seven Ways and DJ Kid skillfully set the table for the renowned Marco G., whose sonic bombshells made an excellent prelude to Tiësto. Resident at the Toronto club Circa, Craig Pettigrew took over the reins in masterful fashion following the Dutchman’s set, finally yielding to the tag team of Wizz and Insomnia, whose teamwork once again set fire to the crowd. Montreal’s Uppercut and Quebec City’s Gervais Sphinx brought a brilliant closing touch to an event that will surely go down in the annals of the Québec capital’s nightlife.

Thanks to everyone
Organizers White Party Week and DoYouLookGood.com wish to thank all the participants who contributed to the success of Sensation Québec 08. Thanks also to our sponsors and partners, as well as to all those who worked flat out so that the event could happen. This first experience provides a glimpse of wonderful possibilities for the presentation of new events in Quebec City over the years ahead. Until then, it’s a date for the 3rd edition of Resolution, the New year’s event par excellence taking place at the Bell Centre in Montreal, and for the 15th-anniversary edition of Montreal’s White Party Week, next April 9 to 13.
